Skin Peels

Chemical peel treatment also known as chemabrasion, chemexfoliation is a technique that involves Skin treatment, especially of face with the use of chemical agents that removes outer layer of the skin leading to exfoliation and regeneration of skin layers. It is used to treat pigmentary disorders, superficial acne scars, ageing skin changes-wrinkles, blemishes.
Skin peels improve the texture, smoothen and beautify the skin. This is a common office procedure, evolved over the years.

Professional Peeling agents

Glycolic, lactic, citric, salicylic, trichloroacetic, pyruvic, retinoic acids, phenol and resorcinol are the few peeling agents used alone or in combination.

Pre peel instructions
  • Always use broad spectrum sunscreen and moisturisers to be used regularly
  • Stop using creams with medicated actives 2 days prior to peels
  • Avoid any salon based treatments-facial/bleach 2 weeks prior and after peels

Post peel care
  • Exfoliation can occur from 1-3 days in superficial to 5-10 days in deeper peels
  • Mild soap or non soap cleansers is used. Topical anti-inflammatory agents are used if there is crusting
  • Cold compresses used to soothe the skin
  • Broad spectrum sunscreen and moisturisers to be used regularly
  • Avoid scratching or peeling the skin
